Summary:
Turnips are good source of vitamins C, B6 and high in dietary fiber.Turnips curry is cooked in the same way as potato. Turnips curry is an acquired taste. Shelgum ki sabzi tastes very good with roti and specially with Makki/Corn ki roti.
Shelgum ki sabzi recipe is from aunt Swadesh. Sabzi can also be made in a regular skillet or pan. Cooking in a pressure cooker saves time, energy and nutrients. I prefer to add red chilli powder over green chillis because my kids can't handle too much spice. The recipe given below is cooked in a pressure cooker. In the recipe description, you will notice there is no mention of green chillies. Add green chillies with tomatoes and other spices, if you prefer to add green chillies.
