Recipe - Plain white rice

Cooked Rice

Summary

Plain rice is very simple to cook. Rice is as served part of a meal. Rice is a staple food for people who are from south India. In telugu language it is called as "Annam" and in hindi language is known as "Chawal" and is also known as "Bhaath"

Ingredients:

* Rice - 1 cup
* Salt - one pinch (optional)
* Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 teaspoon (optional)
* Water to cook - 2 cups

Process:

Wash rice and add water,salt, and 1 tea spoon of ghee.

Pressure cooking:

Pressure cook it at medium high temperature for 1 whistles.

Open Vessel:

Cook at a medium high temperature and bring it to a boil. As you notice the rice is boiling, simmer the temperature and stir for a minute or two.


Cover with the lid and let it cook for 20 minutes on the lowest flame and turn off the stove.


Serve hot with any Vegetable or Dal.
